Stephen Gregory recently visited the set of King Kong in New Zealand, as a guest of Richard Taylor of Weta Workship and Weta Digital. Weta is one of the most recognised production companies in the world, having most famously completed all of the Lord of the Rings movies.

Stephen was granted a tour of the massive facility, and get a glimpse into the latest blockbusters in production, including props and weapons for Peter Jackson's upcoming 'King Kong' movie, and weaponary and armour for 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe'.

Weta has carved a name for itself in the areas of authentic props, weapons, makeup, sets, and visual fx. It currently employs over 600 people - including a fulltime Blacksmith! The company has recently completed work on movies such as I-Robot, Kingdom of Heaven, and World's Fastest Indian.
